Where have some of you installed a oil temp sensor at on a '90 AWD talon? Are there any factory oil galleys that are plugged and can be used or is some filter sandwich plate the best way to go?

Thanks

You can always T off the current ports that you have, personally I'd run mine on the return line from the cooler.

sandwich plate the oil filter, to get accurate readings of oil temp....

remember your looking for oil temp not oil press, so you need consistant oil flow over the temp sending unit..

Thanks for the help. I think I will go the the sandwich plate. Just need to browse around and find the best price.

Ok so, can any of you verify that the oil sandwich plate will fit with the filter and a 3" downpipe? I had the car on a lift at work yesterday to do some other stuff and with a sandwich plate in there it looks like it will be REALLY close fitment between the back of the filter and the downpipe. Is there a smaller filter with the same thread that will work? I'm sure people have used a sandwich on a 1G but I just wanted to hear it for my self that it will fit before I buy one.

Edit: Well after more searching and reading today i found that the sandwich adaptor won't really fit with the downpipe and filter. So I found that I can use one of the unused plugs in the filter housing, but I need to know the thread pitch of the unused plugs in the housing so I can get the right adaptor to fit my 1/8 npt sensor into it.

I believe it's 1/4" or 3/8" I forget. That is where I put mine. I got an adaptor from Russell. It needs a really good coating of thread sealant or teflon tape because it's not NPT. I believe that it's BSP.
