I was breaking in my new engine today /well im up to 500 miles...and I notised that when I boost to around 15psi and hold it there for around 2-3 thousend rpms when i let off a huge cloud of white "oilsmoke seems to be coming out of my exhaust. Are my turbo seals bad? I have a 20g. and i checked my pcv valve and also my intercooler pipes for oil and they came up normel. I also notised my dip stick was not poped out but there was oil on the tube and on my valve cover looking like it was spraying up from my dipstick. Maybe the oil was coming out of the tube and hiting the manifold and smokeing all over, but why would it smoke so bad onley when I let off the gas?? Anybody help me?.

The dipstick popping out is usually associated with either a faulty PCV valve (which you said you checked) or excessive blow-by. Combined with you smoking on deceleration, my guess is either rings or valve seals. IIRC, smoking on deceleration is most likely valve seals but I would suspect either. Do a compression and leakdown test and let us know what you find. :thumb:

Check your turbo for shaft play. Try to wiggle the compressor wheel up and down, side to side, and in and out. Any in/out play means the bearings are shot. Any noticeable side/side or up/down play means that the bearings are likely failing.

I think the motor wasn't broke in right.Unseated rings will burn oil on decel. Are you running rich? You could have washed the rings also.

yeah the head just got porthed with a valve job done by a race shop, FYI befor the rebuild my old engine did the same thing ( i used the same-my old block with new pistons, rods, and bearings and head) everthing else was the same witch make me think its my turbo but my icpipes are not oiley... I will try a leak down test tomarow. this will tell me if it is my valve seals right? I am going to also check compresion.. Thanks alot guys..
