I researched and researched and did not find an answer that appealed to me so I am posting...

1999 GST Built bottom end with around 50k miles on it. I'm getting around 5psi of pressure at idle and only about 25psi at 3200rpms. Now, before we go with the duh, it's bad senario, let me say this. My turbo also is going out on me. I noticed it started smoking excessively and decided to check the shaft play and wow, already started eating into the housing. So, what I am going with is that the turbo is my cause for low oil pressure. I just don't see how both the motor and turbo can go out at the same time. Prior to bad turbo nonsense, I had great pressure, around 60psi at 80mph and around 10psi at idle...so my question is, can the turbo really cause low pressure or am I just tryin to not accept the inevitable?
