I'm not sure if this has been covered or not. But, in regards to porting out the oil filter housing would it not be easier to toss on another crush washer on the piston assembly? That way there is less tension on the spring allowing the valve to open easier? instead of removing the whole housing and opening up the port? I'm in the process of a rebuild and a BSE. I already have the OFH out. I was just thinking there has to be an easier solution.
 
You would still have the same if not slightly lower pressure. It's not how easy or when it opens, it's the volume that is able to get to the pan.
