I noticed that when my oil would get a little low, my oil pressure would drop momentarily during hard lefts. It does this when it is less than a quart low. I topped off the oil and noticed it is improved, but will still do it if I make a fairly hard left. I see this on my autometer gauge with elec sender. The sender is mounted in the location where the stock idiot oil light sender would go.

I know it's not a good thing, but I would like to know if anyone else has experienced this, and any possible solutions. Should I take my pan off and inspect my oil pickup?

My clutch feels fine and my engine doesn't make any noise. I am not concerned with CW, but a solution for the oil pressure/pickup issue.

Thank you in advance,
Jon

How hard of a left? You talking sticky autoX rubber?
Might want to think about baffling your pan, as it sounds as if oil is getting pushed away from the pickup enough to starve/cavitate the pump, which isn't good at all.

IMHO, I'd add another quart in the meantime until you can baffle the pan.

I did this to mine, I'll post some pics of it shortly

No no, not autox, just street driving, turning through an intersection a little too fast, but not all that fast. I think baffling may be my best bet. My pan has a small dent, I have an extra one I have all painted up and have been wanting to put on, I've just been slacking off. I guess it's good I didn't do it yet, because this way I can baffle it before I put it in.

Thanks for your help.

Sounds like the connector on your sensor is loose.

It only happens when I turn left, and the problem is more severe when the engine oil is low. I've checked the sensor wire connections.

What are the dangers when overfilling the crankcase?

Am I the only one who has noticed this on hard lefts?
