Oil pressure concern.....

I'm having some concern on my oil pressure....... at first when I turn on the car and what not I let it run for a few minutes to get the oil going through and stuff and then I go and the car runs fine and strong at 40-60 psi BUT once it gets to the right temperature then the oil pressure drops to 20 psi and even when I spool up hard it doesn't get past 30 psi YES even in highway so when I spool up the thing seems to lag and stuff it's really weird so I wanted to know if it was an oil pump problem or something of that sort? Please help me out cause I just bought the car and it'll be a shame if it dies on me this early in the run, thanks in advance guys!

I'm assuming you're getting your readings from an aftermarket gauge? It may just be a bad sender (if you're using an electrical gauge).

Hey, check around your oil filter, make sure the oil pressure sensor, which is pretty much on the filter is connected properly. Make sure the filter is on tight, my filter somehow loosened itself and my pressure gauge read very low, i thought it was just broke because the car is old. Thank god i checked, i had no oil in the car at all. Of course it was making some weird noises.

I'm using the normal traditional needle reader and yes on an aftermarket gauge.... I'll check the oil pan to see if it's maybe leaking or the oil filter, I'm just hoping that is nothing major because the car is having lag to spool up when the pressure is low but when it's high it spools fine so I don't think it has anything to do with the turbo going to give out or anything I hope..... this is my first turbo'd car and I'm learning a few things hehehe thanks for the input guys
