I got a 91 tsi awd and the person I bought it from stripped out the fuel rail holes...then proceeded to drill them out way to deep and too large. Now there is a substancial leak that puddles on the intake manifold. My question, is "Is there an oil passage in that area? or is this an easy fix with epoxy from the inside? feel free to throw any more ideas you have out there too.

Thanks

Wow. He must have really wanted the fuel rail super tight. I'm away from home for a week so I don't have a head to look at. But the fuel rail mounting location off the top of my head doesn't go into any pressure passages. If anything it would be an oil drain area. You could maybe just get away with using some black RTV on your mounting bolts to seal it up. I woiuld start with that.

The oil pressure ports on the head are in the middle and exhaust side of the head. If their is one on the intake side of the head someone can chime in and go further.

sweet, thanks alot, yea I tried the black rtv on the bolts and that probably woul've done the job had they not done a horrible helicoil job, I put everything back together to discover the passenger side fuel rail bolt freely spinning, after disassembling everything today the helicoil came out on the bolt itself. So I tapped the hole a little larger and just went that route since the helicoil can't be done after their mess. I hope it will fix everything, but thanks for the info.

The oil feed passage for the intake cam is very close to the fuel rail mounting bolts. Be careful, the feed passage is slightly below those bolts. Try to look inside the bolt hole and see which way it punched through.

ok, yea I think they did hit it, but I just tapped the hole larger and put a bigger bolt in and no leaks so it seems to be ok. (this is not a dd so it's a temp fix til I get a rebuilt motor ready
