hey guys im new to this kind of engine but i have rebuilt my 2.0 and it runs great but i have an oil leak right behind where the oil pump bolts up to the block, oil is seeping out between the main cap bedplate and the block i found out that i was supposed to use an anaroebic sealer on these two pieces but i didn't know that at the time and i used black rtv permatex. any suggestions on how to fix this problem outside of taking the engine out again?

Is this on a 4G63 or 420a? You put it in the 420a forum but show a 4G63.

Yes you should have used anerobic. The only way to fix that is to pull her apart.

BUT!! My guess is that you left out an important O-ring.

Check here;

2GNT.com - A_Proper_Rebuild

and scroll down to see if you left out the bedplate O-ring. And yes, others have.

i remember putting the o ring on the oil pump but i don't remember if i put one on the bedplate or not. i guess the only way to know for sure is pull her back out. that is probably what it is because there is a lot of pressure focused on that one area, it's not leaking anywhere else, and it's right where that o ring is located in that pic on 2gnt.com. hey thanks a lot guys. i'll get these things figured out sooner or later. oh yeah the car is a 420a '99 eclispe gs i don't know why it says gsx. i'll fix that too. LOL
