hey im selling my 97 talon and it has a oil leak and i would like to fix it before i sell it, there is oil where the spark plugs are, and on top of the valve cover, it is the valve cover gasket? i put the car on a lift and looked over it quiklly and couldnt see where the oil was coming from. any help would be great

If it is in the spark plug wells, you will probably also have to replace the spark plug o-rings and you should also replace the valve cover gasket which you can probably get both for pretty cheap.

sorry i didnt see this earlier. ive had to replace my VC gasket twice. there bad on the 420a. i had oil on the top of the VC also.

thanks for all the help, got a new gasket and put it on, but now there is an even bigger problem  the idiot that had my car before decided to tourque all the vc bolts down to like 25 ftlbs, now one of the bolts broke in half and it is stuck down in the hole, with no way to get it out. any suggestions? :talon:

Do a search. There's a lot there that'll give you a clue as to what to do next. "exhaust manifold bolt" should give you a lot of hits. LOL
