Hi most of you already know that I have a 420a Turbo. Well I noticed today when I got home from cruising it that my car was leaking. I immediately drove in to my garage. When I was under my car checking where this leakage was coming from i could not find it. At fist i thought it was the T from the oil sensor/ feed line but it was not. I continued to look i saw more oil close to where the T is located but i could not find the leak. I have cleaned the oil to see if I can see where the leak it but nothing I took my car for a spin around my block and there was no leak. I was maybe thinking that it was maybe because i was steeping on it alot when i was cruising it but I still cant figure it out.

clean it off again and put some of that oil additive stuff that turns your oil green under black light im not sure what its called but o rielys should have it. that should help finding the leak

start the car and get under it, watch for leask then....thats how I solved my last problem...u will eventually find the culprit, good luck

does the oil pan have a gasket because when I took it off during the installation of the turbo it didn't seem to have one.

do u happen to know what this stuff is

YES...the oil pan needs a gasket. Might as well do an oil change while you're at it because you're gonna need to get that done, whether it's the culprit of your leak or not.

Well I bought the oil pan gasket and its not that. I cleaned the oil pan and everything good and I took it for a spin and where it seems to leak is close to the transmission but I know the transmission is not whats leaking. The leak comes down to where the trani is located at. I took off the battery and the intake to see where the leak is at and it looks like if its coming from some location close to the block but i have no idea. Does anyone have a clue where it might be leaking from? Forgot to mention its not the feedline also.

I am assuming it is coming from above the bellhousing at the end of the engine, from your removing the battery and intake off. Possible places oil could be leaking from in that area, off the top of my head, are the valve cover gasket, head gasket, or your crankcase breather.

If the rear main seal was bad, you could have a small amount of oil seeping up from where the bellhousing mates to the block. The oil would be flung from the flexplate, but in this case most of oil would be dripping from the bottom. It would be obvious. I only mention for the slight possibility of it being your problem.

I have one more question, I dont know if its normal but when I am driving my car and I am say any gear and I pop it out to neutral my rpms drop to two thousand and stay there till i come to a complete stop then they drop to a little over 1. Also when I rev my car say up to 5 thousand, the revs drop fast but they seem to get stuck close to 2 thousand and then then drop a little over 1. Also when I try to maintain the revolutions to a constant level say to 2 thousand they wont stay at a constant rev they will keep going up even if i try to keep them leveled. so any idea.

This would be best dealt with in a separate thread. Different issue, different thread. :)

So should I buy the Head Gasket and the valve cover gasket ? I forgot to mention around the valve cover it looks like if oil is around it but i does not look like if it leaks where it looks the most is like on top of the T where the the oil sensor/feedline is at some how it got the intake manifold oiled up that what I saw when i went down under my car.

OK I found the leak. The leak appears to be coming from the "breather" I think thats what its called its the tube on the side of the valve cover the one that connects with the Intake but since its not connected I have a small breather filter. I took the filter out and I saw hella oil in side it, so then I cleaned all the oil on the that was spilled and I put paper towels around where the TUBE is at and I drove it around my block and when I got back I saw that the paper towels where all dripped by the oil coming out threw there. So what could this be. I was thinking of plugging that whole up or doing a whole to the intake so i can then run the line threw there but I dont know...

Well the solution to that problem is a catch can. I would re-install the PCV valve and run the catch can between the PCV and valve cover. The thing is you should not be getting that much oil through there. The last time I saw that much oil coming up towards my PCV was when i was N/A and had some worn rings.

He probably has some worn rings, I agree, but I think he was talking about the crankcase breather on the driver side, not the PCV. :) Either way, a catch can is a good solution.

I'm thinking Gatoraid bottle packed with some Brillo-pads or something of the like. :)

Will anything happen if I plug that line? I plugged it up and turned on my car and it sounds the same no hesitation or anything so would anything happen? what would be the easiest way to do a catch can?

How would I do this one it sounds cheap and since I am pretty broke right now I will go for whats cheapest 1st :thumb:

This is what I have done

I wouldn't recommend that since it's going to blow air into your PCV system while under boost. The AutoZone here sell small air breather filters which you can put on there if you don't want a catch can. Look at the pics in my profile for an example.

Well Thats what I had and it didnt work because thats where the leak was coming out from. so thats why I did that
