Oil leak problem

I just bought a 92 Talon TSI AWD a week ago. It rolled 70k miles last friday, and it has a minor oil leak. It only leaks oil after the car is turned off, and its not a big leak....more of a spotty leak. I will have a small area with clean oil, and then a couple drops of black oil...what the hell....2 leaks maybe? The guy that I bought the car from had just put a new tranny in (auto), and replaced the timing belt, and valve cover gasket. The oil seems to be falling from the back side of the engine judging by where the spots are. I havent had a chance to look yet, but is there a common problem with this, and should I look at anything in particular when I get in there?

From the back of the engine? Maybe check the back portion of the valve cover gasket. Hopefully it's just that and not your rear main seal.

The black oil is just oil that leaked out awhile ago and is just now falling off the car. The clean oil is newly leaked oil.

Common causes for that area are leaking PS Rack/lines or xfer-case overflow (was too full) or defective yoke seal on driveshaft (read the VFAQ ).

Well I found the source of the leak. Its around the valve cover gasket, and its pooling up in the backside intake/fuel rail area...and dripping off to the side. I went to tighten down the bolts and realized that 2 of the bolts on the back side wont tighten at all. Does anyone know the torque specs for these? I assume i'll have to re-tap the threads this weekend. :thumbdown
