I've had an oil leak on my turbo oil feed line ever since I swapped in my JDM motor (30-40k miles on it when I bought it, I've put around 1,400 on 'er), and I'm getting tired of it. So, I went out and tried to tighten the nut on the top of the feed line, (right near the head) and with a wrench it moved very freely. It's in all the way, but I can still turn it in either direction with ease. Since the entire line is blackened with oil, I figure the leak is right there at the top seal and letting oil drain down the line on to the turbo.

How can I fix this? Is the nut supposed to turn as mine is (I can continue to tighten it, but it's not tightening)? If not, what should I do? I just put half a quart in and I just barely topped the oil level off on the minimum mark.

Thanks in advance.

It is stripped out. Can you take a picture, or write more in detail on where it is. I can't get a good picture in my mind of where you are talking about. If I know, then I can give you a proper answer on how to fix it.

This isn't a picture of my engine (I borrowed the picture from the gallery since I don't have a camera on hand), but this is where I believe my leak is. The oil pools on the turbo at the bottom of the feedline and burns off there. The line is blacked with oil, leading me to believe the leak is where I indicated.

Thanks for the response. C:

It is stripped out since it won't tighten up. The threads are gone. You need to get a repair kit for it. Helicoil kit, i think is what it is called. This will repair the threads back to original size.

here is a pic of kinda what you will need. Not this size though. You need to find the proper thread size and stuff.

you could try rethreading into the head, or say screw the head, block the oil passage, and get a stainless feed line fed from the location by the oil filter, cast iron also, it wont strip, my room mate had this issue, tried repairing and still had issue, since he did that he hasnt had the problem, also try using NEW crush washers, those things do wear out

Alright, thanks a million for your help. I just went through over 10 quarts of oil today getting back from the college, and now she's grounded. The leak got 'real' bad. So, anyone know the proper size I'll need for the helicoil kit, or where I can find that out? I'm going to call up the dealership and such, but any help is appreciated.
