I'm doing a 7-bolt build and I'm stuck with the oil jets, how do i remove them with out having to take the block to the shop. any help would be good:confused:

The crank, pistons/rods and the block side main bearings need to be removed in
order for you to get a small enough brass punch in there to tap them out.

Are you eliminating them, or are you going to replace them?

Do not reuse them, install new ones if you plan on retaining oil jets.

If you're eliminating them, just have them welded shut and tap them back into the block.

Well I'm still kinda confused about the oil jets. I know they oil up the walls of the bore and cool down the piston. What would be the benefit of taking off the oil jets.

better oil pressure... the oil squirters were for cooling the factory piston crown.. if your using forged pistons, you do not need the squirters.. if you are reusing the factory pistons i would advise you not to eliminate them

I'm thinking about building a 6bolt just to have it as a spare. or just if something goes wrong with my 7 bolt

You do know that a 6 bolt swap isnt a direct replacement, right? And that you have to do a fair amount of rewiring and fabrication to get it to fit and run right.

If it's going to be a like that then ill still to 7bolt. thanx every body who has helped

do you know what pistons you are going use?
what are your power goals?
what fuel do you plan to run?
how much boost and what turbo?
what type of driving do you plan to do?
any racing?

well i have .020 weisco piston's. eagle rods. acl main and rod bearings

using the car for a daily driver and just for fun, a little street racing
