Oil Filter

I got a new alternator put in about a week ago. And I noticed that they had changed the oil filter while they did the alternator. They never said they did and they also never charged me for it. Should I be worried that they used a different one or if they did something weird?

Also, is there some kind of plastic shield that is supposed to be in that area? Becuase I was able to look at it pretty easily from just laying down by the car. And I dont remember being able to do that so easy. So is there a shield kinda thing there? Thanks.

Mine is in plain view. I wouldn't worry about it, just make sure you have oil in your engine .

Thanks, Yeah theres oil. Its noticably(sp?) smaller then the last one I had. And when I looked under the car it just seems like the whole oil filter housing is out in the open. Maybe its just me.

Im pretty sure there is a shield missing now. I just wanna make sure before I go down there to get it or something for it. I know this pic is of the other side but its all that I could find.

Anyway, you know how this shield has bolts in the front of the car as well. On the Oil filter side, there are a couple holes and a bracket looking thing that have nothing on them. Is that normal, I am getting a feeling just by looking at it that something is funny. What do you guys think?

Sorry about that, I meant to say I know this is the wrong side, but I was trying to show how this shied has holes that bolt up to the front of the car. And on the other side there are hole and a bracket that look like something like a shield should be there, the whole filter housing looks like it is just out in the open. Im not to good at describing things.

Yes. There is a splash shield that goes there. If you can lie down next to your front wheel and see it, then maybe it's missing.

Yeah! Thank you. Thats it. And its gone . I hate that place, never gonna let another person touch this car again. But ithe alt. was under warranty. Thanks for the help. I knew somethign looked real funny.

Do you still have a 93? I still have never seen that "splash guard" on either of my first gens. But maybe they were pulled off, and never put back on.

Yeah, I still have the 93. It doesnt look like that, but its similar and I remember that being there before, I just didnt know if it wrapped around down to the front or not. I didnt even look behind the tire. But thats gone to. So I guess someone did that to you too.
