I have been working to get my 2g back on the road today. How ever I have run into a major road block. I was sold 3/8 npt an fiting to replace the stock 2g hard oil line. But the 3/8 NPT fitngs do not fit, they are the wrong pitch and slightly too large in diameter. Whatfitings do I need? What pitch and size?

OK I have done some searches and from what little I found I was sold the correct fittings.

But why do then do the not fit? How can I be the only one with this problem?

Only thing I have really found on this subject is:

This one says MAKE IT FIT!!??????????????? (not hapening):

ok any clue where I can just buy a BSP fitting? I would rather throw this one in the trash than try to re-thread it. Also are you sure it is bsp? These fittings I have are .5 mm larger in diameter than the factory plug that adapts to the stock hard line.

Well since no one knows what size and pitch the correct fitting for our cars is....

I have decided to re-tap the filter housing for 3/8 npt. This is a much better option than "making it fit". As sugested buy all the vendors. I will do this with the hosing removed from the car and clean it really good after done. I am going to go ahead and do a 90 filter housing swap. Will also tap the cooler lines for the 3/8 NPT fitings as well.

I wish vendors would just sell the correct fittings instead of just using generic fittings.

I aggree, if vendors are going to charge the prices they do, they can at least make sure the parts are correct.
