Oil Distribution Block

This thread can probably be moved, but didn't know exactly where else it should go.

In the 2g 4G63 head, there is an oil distribution block on the passenger side bolted down with 3 bolts. It is a 2-part block held together with a single screw and the two half-pieces are separated with a gasket.

Anyone know the part # of this gasket? Or should I just make one of my own? I couldn't find it in CAPS anywhere . . .

You sure about that? Every one I've taken apart has a gasket between the aluminum top and the steel base plate . . . and the two halves are held together with a single screw.

My 2g head and my current 1g head both did not have gaskets.

It's not a place where a leak will matter, and it's not under enough pressure for its size to be causing much of a leak. Somewhere, this has come up before, but I'll be damned if I have any idea what to search for to find it again.

Hehehe . . . yeah I was actually thinking of that this morning. If there is a SMALL leak . . . no worries really. Just a bit of pressure loss to the HLA's ya?

It'll take a helluva leak to lose pressure- the whole oiling system is nothing but a leak-feed. As for the lash adjusters, they don't work from oil pressure, but from the oil they trap as it's fed to them.
Force-feed lubrication is only to keep oil from burning up. Plain bearings hold oil, and other sliding interfaces kill oil by getting the layer thin enough to die from overheating.
