Oil coming out of a sensor?

Theres a wire going into the side of my motor, not sure if its a sensor..but there is oil coming out of it, not sure what it is..any ideas?

Can you be a little more specific than "the side of the engine"? A picture also speaks a thousand words.

Its on the right side of the motor right below the valve cover, I cant take a picture right now..I might be able to later tonight

Which right side. The driver's side or the passenger side.

And yes, I have seen oil travel through wires. We had a automatic transmission sensor go and the transmission fluid followed all the way into the cabin and was leaking out of the back of the dash.

So yes, I would say oil can travel down wires. A picture is better than a verbal description though.

Either oil pressure sensor or low oil sensor on the Oil Filter Housing. Just replace it and go. It has happened to me on other cars.

It might be your crank position sensor. Is it a wire directly below the cam gears?

just replace the sensor or the o ring if its the cam sensor
