OH *^%#....horrible thing happened today, dropped a bolt in the turbo

so i was putting on my j-pipe today and i was taking out one of the bolts that goes into the outlet on the turbo, and when i took one of the bolts out it dropped into the turbo. wtf do i do? do i have to take off my damn turbo just to get that bolt out. this is so shitty i wanted my car running tonight and its not gonna happen now.

can i just get like a hanger or something and attach a magnet to the end of it and feed it down through the hole and try and get it that way? oh man im pissed off.

I lose nuts and bolts on the ground all the time, and the garage floor consists of rocks ... rocks and more rocks. So finding them isn't always easy. But lucky enough, the work lightI use has a magnetic end, so I just sweep it across the ground . And yes, those magnet on an end things are awesome, I know I've used them at least once.

yes, buy yourself a little extendo-magnet...those suckers save money countless times more than what you pay for them. Just make sure you don't lose it in the process

got the magnet thing at auto zone for 3 bucks....went home and dug it down in the turbo and couldnt find shit..

came back out 5 minutes later and my friend made bends in the magnet stick thing and he stuck it down in the turbo and pulled it out and there was the bolt...

im the happiest person alive right now

The same shit happened to me when I was working on my friend's GSX. But it was at 3am in the morning so autozone wasn't opened. Since I'm just such an inovator, I took a fishing line with a hook already attached and literally fished out the bolt. It was nice and quick too!

quick story, my friend came over and dropped a gasket between his bumper and couldn't get it out. I broke out the fishing hook and got it out withing less than a minute. He was just amazed and was like... "you must have done this before, your a freakin pro at it"

The autozone by my house is open 24 hours! I love it I can go at 3am and buy a head gasket!
