Oh boy I'm having problems

Alright I just bought my 1998 GST about 3 weeks ago and it ran strong and fine up until 4 days ago. This will be a long post because im having like 4 problems.

1) When I hit the gas in any gears and my turbo boosts I hear this kind of grinding or scraping noise coming from the vicinity of my turbo and im losing boost. It really sucks to drive but im forced to.

2) My car just eats gas even worse than it should be and when the check engine light came up the OEM code,fuel trim malfunction code, and the open loop failure due to low engine coolant temperature code came up. I have no clue what to do.

3)When i drive the car my back left wheel makes a high pitched squeal at low speeds and my front right wheel sounds like its scraping at all times except left turns and at low speeds i can feel it wobble but when i straightens out it still makes the noise but doesnt wobble around much just the scraping noise.

4) My clutch keeps slipping at random times.

5) When i go over a bump theres this noise near my front left tire that sounds like a clang and i have no clue what it is

Buy a new car.

, no but your turbo probably has tons of shaft play causing it the fins to scrape the housing when it spins.

Search on here for the error codes, it will give you good ideas.

Clutch is probably going out, do a WOT 5th gear pull and see if it slips.

Jack up your car and look at/wobble/shake/inspect your suspension and tires.

Alright and and i forgot to mention that occasionally when i take off in first gear i hear this noise that sounds like running or washing water coming from the engine directly in the middle. It is really wierd but it doesnt always do it..anything?

how do you know this water sound as you call it is coming from there while you are driving? If it is coming from there the issue is probably directly related to the slipping! fuel trim code is boost leaks or a map or temp sensor more than likely. Like habitat said you will have to do a full inspection but the grinding in the front will probably be the rotor cover. they get bent from time to time and drag on the rotor. the clang as you called it is something loose for sure i would not drive until thoroughly inspected. the squeel if it is not a dragging pad or metal to metal is a bearing more than likely.

I know where its coming from because when im in first it is sounds like its a foot away from me tops and the passenger can tell its not near him

my a/c compressor sounded that way, could never tell where it was. until it went. It would make this wishy washy sound is the best i could explain it. But since it went I removed every piece of a/c stuff under the hood all better. but it still could be low oil level in transmission or bad oil! make sure you check you transfercase for sure. although 2g transfercases are better than 1g they can still lock up from lack of lube.

It sounds like you are low on coolant. This causes fuel trim codes as well as the "sloshing" sound (water coming through your heater core). Check your upper control arm mounting points - they are known to rot out. I think HABITATGUY187 is right about your turbo, too. Could be done. Check your brakes for the scraping noise, they have little tabs on them called "squeakers" that are to let you know it's almost time to change them.

Water sloshing sound, first thing to do is check coolant level and try to "bleed" the system if you will, basically get air out. It can also be freeon (sp?) from what I've read.

Great score on the tsi's, I really need to do some cosmetic stuff but as we all know, performance>looking good .

My coolant levels are normal. When i popped the hood after you said the A/C i found out that its in that vicinity. My oil level hasnt changed and i use Mobil 1 sythetic 10w-30

the clutch in the compressor is going out or the freon level is probably out of spec. turn on your a/c and see if it stops making the noise. if so it is the clutch if no then it is the pressure switch for the compressor or low pressure inside the system.
