I think I'm having TPS problems

I have some wierd things going on with my TPS readings. It all started when I picked up an SAFC2 for dirt cheap and had a local dsm guy put it in for me. Basically I was just going to have it look pretty until i got a logger and a afpr. I just had it set up to show me tps, karman and rpm for the time being. For the first few weeks everything was fine, all the numbers were normal. In the past few weeks I've had the safc show the tps % going nuts all over the place and the car stutters a bit like its surging(another problem in itself, just a bad ISC i'm hoping) This would usually clear up in a matter of seconds, and the tps % would go back to normal OR it would stick at 100%, even when i was totally off the pedal, even at idle. Well in the next few weeks i just got used to it figuring it was a bad TPS.

Here comes the kicker, in the last 10 or so days I've been having a similar problem except now the safc isnt registering any % tps for long periods of time, and every once in a while it will kick in with correct percentages, and sometimes with the stick at 100% but not as often anymore, now it likes the 0%.

Two days ago i picked up a logger setup from a local guy, and to start things off i had stored code number 14, TPS. For the heck of it I fire up mmcd and check out what the logger reads for tps %. At idle i was getting 10.5%, which after some searching i've read was very normal on a 1g. So i blip the throttle a bit, and i notice the number go up and fall back down to 10.5. Fair enough, i blip the throttle a bit higher this time and the number goes up higher and back down to 10.5. At this point i'm like  because my safc is still doing the sometimes working/sometimes zero/sometimes 100% thing still.

During this whole period the car runs perfectly fine aside from some random slight surge/high idle, which i guess could be tps but i assume its the isc.

Should i try and get a TPS from a yard and go from there? That thing looks like a real sonofa to get that bottom bolt out.

I poked around here and vfaq for some removal/test tips for the TPS but came up pretty dry, any advice or suggestions would be very appreciated :thumb:

Sounds like a TPS to me. I had the same problem with my SAFC but it was a wire that wasnt soldered well :( .

If you want to test the TPS here is a quick link i found you. Good luck!
