Im sorry you felt that way. I only have about an 1 1/2 drive to norwalk(I no, im lucky) and I would deff. do it again if it was rescheduled. $180 a night just to stay at the hotel was worth my while. Dsmers have got to be the best gruop of people to be around! Of course everyone goes their for the cars but their is so much more! I got to bong a beer out of a second story window of the all american inn. I drank some Windsheild washer fluid (patented by some guys from virginia beach i believe, whom also cooked some amazing chicken). I got a spray paint (called Fast and Easy!LOL shit sucks ass getting off!) tatoo buy some people at the Best Western. I met a lot of new people that seem cool as hell( Brian Little, Dan Lewis, Tony Turk, My old buddy Jimmy Read, the Shearer Group, and a bunch more.. I seriously think it was the best weekend this year for me. I wish the shootout could be scheduled twice a year for how much fun I had. I hope the turnout will be big if it gets rescheduled. Thanks for a fun ass weekend for those of you who were there:thumb:

A.J. Hall :talon:

That was our room. Were you one of the guys that worked for shep? I remember there being 2 of you, the prelude guy and the 1g guy.

First off I would like to say thank you to all of you who came! It was a great turnout Saturday. There was well over 1500 people here at the shop and it would have been the LARGEST shootout ever on Sunday if mother nature would have cooperated with us. That sucks! Its actually STILL raining here. Its supposed to until Saturday. :(

We will be having a reschedule date. I will let you all know once we know when it will be exactly. Its looking like late September or sometime in October.

Thanks again everyone and we hope to see you at the reschedule!

(...got the burnout from Friday night at the Best Western!)

Enjoy!

You mean the jackass that just HAD to do it. Glad there were people there who stopped him since EVERYONE knows about ALL the shit we get every year from the event and the intelligent ones who attend like the one doing the burnout. If you see that individual again or if anyone knows him tell him NOT to come back to the shootout. He's not welcome here.

I think you're thinking of the GN. And if so here ya go. My GF took these pics, some handsome stud was driving the GN :thumb: I was just taking out some pent up aggression after Buschur wouldn't let me on the dyno "I don't want to clean up any oil" oh ok jackass.
After the Burnout I forgot to switch off the linelock and stalled it out, thats why I'm laughing in the one pic.

For starters im glad to see you fall into the same category as the above mentioned person. If you feel the need to act like that do it in your own town. We dont need the crap here where WE live.

As far as the dyno... its not a Mitsubishi powered car which is what the event is about so im sure the people there didnt want to see a Buick on the dyno. Secondly David has a GN actually he has 2 and his Dad has 2 also. He knows about their "reliability" issues and he evidently wanted to avoid spending the time cleaning up a potentional mess in front of a couple thousand people. Its something you shouldnt have taken personally.

If there is ANYONE who can not control their urge to act like a fool, doing burnouts, doing donuts on someone else's property, etc..... PLEASE do not come back to the shootout! We do NOT want you here.

Dream On: Yep Im the 1g guy which one are you? Will you guys be back for the reschedule because I know all of us will! Sorry for the burnouts JROD. I was back behind the Best Western to see a big crowd cheering on the TA to do a burnout. I no he didnt want to come back after the cops rolled in with paintball guns and teargas or was it paintball guns filled with teargas. Either way that pretty much ended it all. I believe your right, its not the drinking that bothered them just the burnouts. They walked by everyone drinking as if they were looking for something (guessing the burnout vehicle).

So much fun in Norwalk again! Quebec guyz would like to tanks Bushur for is open house, all the people who came talk to us, we are not aliens and we dont bite!!!:p
Ill be there for the rain check!!!:thumb: :rocks:

LOL

Canadians = Aliens WTF I knew it all along!

We hope to see you guys there!

You know there are a lot of guys that drove a LOT further than that? The Canada guys came upwards of 12 hours and still had a blast, and I know they will be back next year. If you didn't enjoy yourself than I'm sure nobody will miss you next year.

15 hours in our case.

And bad weather is something you can't do anything about anyway.

It sure would have been better with the racing, but the open house was fun.

Many thanks to Jarod for letting us park in a nice spot. ;)

Anytime man! I wasnt going to let you park that thing in the gravel. You got the VIP parking instead. The car looks great. :thumb: Cant wait to see her run!

I was also one of the other people in that room, your welcome for the beer. And I know me and Matt aka, spooln4fun are def going to the reschedule event!

I drove 14 hours from NE and had a great time again. Mother nature is a bi***, but what can you do? Unfortunately I won't be attending the rescheduled event, but there is always next year.

We were drinking in the Best Western parking lot and a cop came up to us and asked "This can't be civil for one year can it guys?". I would hope that no respectful person would jackass around and spread his douschery abroad, but that is not the case. It blows when you have a few jackasses that cast a dark cloud over the event every year.

Just get a swarm of like 24 people to just start kicking those people's asses. Im sure it will stop eventually.

Agreed, but my mom and aunt (my lawyer) told me the night before I left that they weren't gonna come and bail my ass out in Ohio. I guess they know me too well.

No it was not fun. Any of you that said you had a good time trailer your car there for 5.5 hours or more one way? Even if it gets reschuled there will be about half the people there to RACE not bullshit come back. Yea im pissed. Will be doing all local events from now on.

Could you cry a little more? I drove my car from Maryland. I drove back in pouring rain which I had to drive 45-50mph in the whole way because i had bad tires. And I still say I had a GREAT time. Its about the environment, the people, and the love for DSM's, and meeting new people who have the same addiction as you do, not how many races you got to see.

Some pictures by the shop.
What wheels where those on that black 1GB talon??
those look hawt!

I'm sure glad I didnt make a week long drive like a couple people out here in the northwest did. I know now I will be flying in if I get the time off work next year to attend the 08' shootout!

Nice to see these cars all come together for some fun legal (mostly) excitment!

WHY?? Fiero's are a dissapointment... dont get me wrong im sure its a very fast car--- but I would much rather put my money in a DSM

So how is the fact that HE invested money into HIS Fiero is a disappointment for YOU? Greg has had plenty of fast DSMs over the years and he still had two left.

I can assure you that no regular DSM (short of Shep's 1G), would have generated as much attention at that Fiero did at the show! It was great to see people's reactions! :)

But this was definitely the year of RWD 4G63 project cars!
