OEM VS Hastings Rings

Is there a big difference between the Hastings and OEM rings? Does anyone know the P/N for 2g .020 over rings?

There were 2 different sizes of rings for the 2G's. One was a 2.8mm oil ring and the other was a 3mm oil ring.

Here is the part number for a set of OEM .020 over rings. MD313406

The 1995 2G DSM has the 3mm oil ring and the 96-99 have the 2.8mm ring.

Which size oil rings do those rings come with? I have the .020 over 2g pistons (MD307826) how do I know which size oil rings I need?

I use a digital caliper and measure the oil ring clearance then measure the oil ring its self. The 3mm oil ring was only in the 95's and I think. Most kits come with the 2.8mm so im shure you will be fine.

Just use hastings rings dude. You will see a different performance than using OEM.
