COP vs OEM

The output of a Chrysler coil vs OEM coils worth it? I got a microtech LT10 w/ the X4 amplifier.

I've searched and almost 90% do that modification because looks cool .

For what it's worth, I have a decent setup but I pulled the COP due to misfires. If you have the amp you shouldn't have that problem. A LOT of people are running over 400whp (some claim 5-600) with the stock coils so until you pass that mark it's pretty much a cosmetic thing. I guess you could call it a performance downgrade if you don't get some kind of CDI amp in there vs stock coils!

I think there is a lot of people that do it for the cool look as there is no benifit unless you add some kind of amplifier, I would run one if I had the money to run a dynatek with it.

A huge percentage of DSMs wont need a COP setup...

You can run 8.5 MSD Wires w/MSD Box & NGK Plugs for quite some time before you will ever need COP

I wouldn't ever do COP. 2 basic options, STOCK coils w a CDI amplifier, or JUST stock coils.

Stock coils with a cdi is better then a cdi with cop, best cdi on the market i must say is the M&W pro12, the only thing is there around the $700 mark.

However, stock coils are good for about 600hp or more, depending on fuel, slighly less I would imagine if using E85, just be sure your coils are good shape and plugs gaped accordingly.

COP is just for looks.

gixxerdrew did 687 whp and still was on the stock coil packs and NGK spark plugs and NGK blue wires. also, we had used that same set-up for the past 3 yrs.
