Anyone use the odyssey battery PC680? I use it.. Its great, except my first one went dead, I overcharged it using a 2 wheel large garage charger, than i let it go dead about a week later and charged to make a long story short I killed it, would not start the car at all after i had to boost it... completely toast.

well i replaced it, and today.. I left my key on and it went dead.. damn.. so i figured, instead of charging it with that big charger, (I need to get something that charges at a lower amperage), I Just boosted it with my other car, and than drove the car for about.. 15-20min, I had just headlights on.

Now, it starts the car.. But its only showing something like 11.4volts with the car not running. I hope I didn't hurt this battery.. If this one goes dead again I sware im going to just stick a optima redtop in the trunk (I run this under the hood in a tight spot and its the biggest I can fit).

Maybe it takes the alternator longer than 15-20min to charge it up? What Im looking for is peoples experience with the PC680, especially when it comes to charging details.

Thanks in advance!!

I would think that the battery would need much more than 15-20 min off driving to get a full charge…..
My experience is that the small batteries aren’t worth it on a DD,
Only drag/track cars that aren’t started that often especially in cold.

I would go with the Optima redtop in the trunk, you won’t have any problems with that.
You can always install the Odyssey for a track day ;)

I've used one on my dd for about 3 months. Love it, starts perfectly everytime. I did leave the interior lights on all night one night and that drained it. I jumped it drove it around for a little bit never missed a beat after that. Anytime the car is going to be down for more than a week I usually put on a battery tender.

Related to the topic at hand........ I have the PC680 and purchased a Schumacher SE-2151MA battery tender. Currently the battery has 12.3v. I attached the tender and the only thing that happend is the power light turned on. I don't get the yellow charging or green charged lights. Is this normal when the battery has a full charge or should it still light up one or both of the other lights?

Was going to go with an optima but my cousin is a manager for AutoZone and says that optima has changed where they were made. There crap he says. They last at most a year. They have had lots of returns since this change.
I had the 680 on my srt4 and it lasted me 3years daily driven. I just ordered one for my 2G GSX. but I don't see a bracket or holder for it. Jmb fabrications made one for the srt4.
