Two days ago my charger claimed the battery was fully charged (I cleaned it up was covered in this coating of black on the positive terminal ONLY) this battery is only about 3 months old its an exide and unfortunetely i've lost the reciept
since i'm doubting it or my cheap lil charger one or the other
now that i look at it.
Once again after just two days and only being driven a total of 20 minutes the voltage on my logger read it at 9.8 obviously the car wont start at that voltage.
so i check out the battery to find the positive termal is once again colored black so i clean it up and reattach the cables only to have the logger read it at only 9.6v.
out comes the test light pulled the negitive side off and did the drain test, the light shines bright only one second then goes dark doesnt shine again if i retouch but if i take it off for a few minutes(2-3) and then retouch it does it again
Does anyone have an idea about the black coating after just sitting in the car for 2 days?
What about the test light Flashing for a second when i do the drain test?
I dont have a multimeter so i'm not sure how to test what amps are being drawn to see if its to low for my test light to show a draw
and i put the battery on my charger it read 11.7 volts after my logger read 9.6
and after only about 20 minutes on the 2 amp setting it read the battery was fully charged which cant be right
Thanks Again I've been posting alot of problems out here lately (chuckles) luckly my honda sound is gone the shop took the car back redid the timing and the balance shaft according to what it was all said then rotated it 180 and checked it and nothing helped .. i left they called few hours later said come pick it up and wha la no vibration no honda sound . they tell me i could have a spun bearing that shifted back to place and i should tear my bottom end apart to have it looked into, I believe its more they saw what they did wrong and dont want to admit it.
