octane booster good or bad?

So im trying to up my octane. the highest octane that anywhere within an hour drive is 91 octane. im runnin 20 psi on my evo 3 with suporting mods, i have a wideband and its in optimal. i was woundering if i can still use octane boosters to help prevent knock and make the car run better.

Honestly If you were running more then 22psi I'd say, Move to Boise or Buy it by the drum an run Strait e85. Seem like the best option to me...

Otherwise is there somewhere to buy Methanol localy? That would be your next best bet.

Again I only say if you were running more 22psi since above that your going to be actually able to run more timing advance then pump at higher PSI an see some kind of gains unless you have been buying Really piss poor 91...

i really don't even have my car out here yet, its in MI. i would really move to Boise but unfortunately im stuck here at the Air Force base in mountain home :/
which really im more depressed about the lack of race gas or E85 out here more than i am that there is nothing to do out here. sooo meth is my only real option, unless... i just keep my boost down and when going to the track, would buying some E85 or race gas in boise and mixing it in work or would that be pushing it?
otherwise i was considering buying a simple meth kit (thats safe obviously) and just running that 49% meth 49% water blue washer fluid in it to get me to run 30psi when i wanted to.. cause theres some auto places around here just no good pumps and stations, etc.

...but that all is a thought, im debating between that and just getting a 5gal can or something and driving 45 mins to buy some race gas or E85 and just mixing with the 91. since both meth and the mixing cost about the same but mixing is easier, meth is also more convenient.
how much more of an effect would mixing higher octane gas in once in a while so i can turn the boost up and advance timing rather than meth injection?

I was using Nos Race Formula + 93 Octane and it allowed me to boost up to 26 lbs no knock and I factory timing. I was also running .026 gaps on my plugs. I can only run 21 lbs on straight 93... I think it works, but its best to just jump into E85. Thats what Im doing.
