i got my old O2 sensor out but the new one won't screw in and i tryed the old one too no luck

The threads have to be messed up. Out of the hundreds of o2 sensors I have done not one wouldn't go back in.

You're probably just not getting the right angle on it. That plus the cord that always gets in the way makes it a pain in the butt to screw the O2 sensor into the housing while it's still installed in the car.

It's pretty unlikely that the threads are messed up. You just have to keep trying until it threads in. If the cord gets in the way, pre-twist it in the other direction that you're trying to screw it in. You have to get the threads lined up or else it'll just spin.

when you took the old one out were there metal shavings in the threads? That would mean you stripped the threads in the o2 housing when you pulled the o2 sensor out. If thats the case, you might have to re-tap it or weld in a new bung

Agreed. For some reason these are a real PITA to get the threads to catch. You look at it and swear that it is lined up right but it just doesn't want to start threading in. Just stay patient, look at it from a couple of different angles to make sure it is positioned properly and keep trying. You may want to invest in some copper or nickel based anti sieze to put on the threads to make future removal easier. Obviously, don't attach the electrical connector end until after you have seated the sensor otherwise you will twist up the cord.

well i fixed it i used a Oxygen Sensor Thread Chaser and it fixed the thread for me so i was able to screw it in the old thread from the old sensor looked good tats why it was so strange
