I recently bought a 14b to put on my 2g but it's missing one of the studs that would be to bolt the downpipe to the o2 housing. Can I just put a bolt that threads through or do I need a stud?

stud really helps, but bolts are fine. do yourself a favor and at least reuse on of the t25 bolts, or get a new oem bolt. worst case scenario, use high temp anti seize with a grade 8.8 hardware store bolt.

You can use a bolt instead. Nickle-based anti-seize works well for exhaust components. The stud helps line up the gasket and downpipe a little easier.

Ok thanks guys, I was trying to get a stud but I would have to wait a while. And I'm doing my turbo swap this weekend. I had read the size for the stud is M12X1 but when I went to a shop trying to get a stud they where able to put a wheel stud in that was 1.25 does anyone know the exact size?
