The real question will be at the end, but here is my situation.
ok well my o2 sensor died. i bought a new one, bought the socket, and tried to take out my old one... The old one didnt agree. I put some penetrating lube on, let it sit, still wouldnt come out. The o2 sensor socket actually would start to turn and somewhat strip the sensor so, i cant take it out. However; when i had my downpipe made, i put an o2 bung in the first bend for my "future" plans of putting in a wideband. After looking into getting a wideband i found out that this location was too close to the turbo, so i have an extra o2 sensor location that i can put the new sensor in, and where i will put the new sensor.
My question. : Will there be any driveability or performance issues with having the o2 sensor about 12 inches further in the exhaust path than the stock location?

Im planning on just cutting the wires off the old sensor and just leaving it there, installing the new one in the downpipe, (using anti-seize this time of corse) , plugging it in and calling it a day. Im just worried about any negative effects it will have on my driveability (anything worse than driving around with a dead sensor that wont come out that is...)
Anyways im pretty confident that this thread is pretty much useless and ive already answered my own questions, but im posting just to make sure to cover all bases and see what everyone else has to say because i dont know everything!

thanks in advance

have you checked with the dealer for a emissions recall? i had my o2 replaced for free in my 91 GSX, as far as the o2 being in the downpipe it should not affect the car's performance.
