o2 housing dump?

You have an aftermarket boost gauge. That's FAR better than the guess-o-gauge that the stock unit is. That's good. Add to that a logging apparatus. Turn your boost down to stock levels and add the 550s and fmic. Tune your car to run like normal (research "fuel trims" and, of course, "tuning SAFC"). This will only take a couple of days.

Then pour on the boost a little at a time until you see your injector duty cycle go just past 80%. OR until you see sudden dips in your timing. The dips in timing are caused by the ecu reading knock from the knock sensor (research "2g knock" for more explenation). You should have a fun, RELIABLE car that you can run to redline. And be more powerful than right now.

Get the 7cm^2 turbine housing from any Mitsubishi 16G. They all bolt on to the 14b. The 14b has the same turbine wheel as all of the 16Gs. I wouldn't even worry about that until you get a good tune with that intercooler upgrade and injector upgrade. You will have slightly more lag with that turbine housing. But it will flow more up top (more power at 6K).

cool thx. i also noticed....is it normal for a 14b to have more lag than a t25?
the first thing i noticed was @8lbs it felt like i was running 15 on the t25..normal?

First, do what 98eclipse said.

Second, of course it is. Just think about it, the 14b is physically a larger turbo than the t-25. The 14b will have more lag (not much though) than the t-25. Since the 14b flows more even at a lower psi, it will "feel" like it's 15psi on the t-25. Normal.

Me either, trying to picture a piece of pipe with two washers welded to it for a down pipe.
You have an intercooler(not a cheap one) you can't afford 60$ for the pipe to be made? That makes no sense.
You ran a pipe from the turbo to the throttle body, with no intercooler?
LOL wow one shall not do such mods on my car, please read, then read it again, then read it one more time to understand the material.

So far, for this life story I have came up with. I made a piece of pipe with two washers welded to it for a down pipe. Then bought an intercooler(not a cheap one) and can't afford 60$ for the pipe to be so I ran a pipe from the turbo to the throttle body, with no intercooler.

Im really confused as to where this thread is going. Is there even any question at hand?:confused:

I actually got dumber reading this thread. Everyone here is knowledgeable and trying to help you out, but with your relentless personality all you are doing is defending your own stupid actions.

ok, this is a technical forum. not a forum for somone to post stupid $shit like "i cant believe i read that" if you have a problem ignore it. on the other hand, if your criticism is contructive and not rude let it out. "inform" not "discourage". on peice at a time is how its going. i can spend about $300 a month on my car if i can hide it from my girlfriend. lastmonth was the intercooler. this month i needed a new turbo. NEXT month (fingers crossed) ill buy my piping. i dont drive the car daily so the dumb stuff im doing to it is on for like maybee 2 miles of driving.

after the piping ill get the 16g turbine housing and 55o's

i did the feul pump rewire, but should i get a new pump, like a warlboro? safc that should come before the injectors. i have the auto enginuity program for a logger, i broke my adapter cable though.

your FMIC is not even hooked up ROFL? I would take it off since its doing nothing at the moment, buy a set of 650s, an afpr, a wally 255, then get your piping for your fmic, and a evo 16g at the same time.

i dont drive the car daily. just when im messing with it. the next time i drive it will be to the exhaust shop for piping. the guy is going to make the piping on the car at his shop for $60 out of stainless.

Wow I read this whole thread for no reason :beatentodeath: to the OP do some research.
I can not believe I read all that.
neither can i....

Guys, so why did you all post for no reason. Yea, he should search and you all should read the rules that appear before the posting box. I don't want to come across like an SOB, but you didn't have to waste any more of your time if you didn't want to. Telling them to search doesn't delete the thread. The damage is done. The clutter is generated. Keeping the thread as short as possible would really help. Having a new thread with old information may even steer other searching newbies into the right direction instead of having to wade through lots of old posts telling someone to "search" or how bad their day is going to be because of reading through an internet thread.

Casperfast, You can run a stock fuel pump rewire and stock 450s and stock intercooler with a 14b at moderately more boost than stock. WITH a logger to monitor engine conditions. What the one's cotributing are trying to say is that the stock setup has been known to tolerate X amount and they're attempting to tell you what X is. Many stockish DSM engine bays have been known to tolerate less than X. I've seen as much as 15 psi with a stock fuel pump and 450s. This is my X :) . But I KNEW the engine could tolerate it, because I was LOGGING sensors that tell me and the ecu what's going on.

As Mr Peepers mentioned don't forget that safc or maft when you get an injector upgrade... Search for SAFC, MAFT, and more importantly "maf overrun".

i know a guy that had a custom made one the pointed up under his hood, i was like :beatentodeath: :tease::nono::notgood:OMG

and the bottom of his hood had burnt marks

That sounds too good to be true. Custom welded SS intercooler pipes for $60? Don't be suprised if he asks for more. Couplers, clamps and pipes might cost that much.

Get a logger next month. It takes the guesswork out of it. It looks like you're going to do some damage if you don't start logging.

Keep the 14b until you've got all the supporting mods to more-than-max-it-out, then upgrade the turbo.

Those are my recommendations.

Casperfast, I just sold my o2 dump I had on for 1 month. Couldnt stand it, it was cool for about 2 weeks. I noticed no loss in power or gain in lag (this could be because my manifold, whole turbo and stock o2 mani is all ported with full 3 inch exhaust) but it could be different from you. Besides catching things on fire, if you must run it, definetely rig up some kind of heat shield around it if you cant use your stock one - it will fry your alternator in no time with all that heat.
