NT Tranny on Turbo Motor Q's

Its finally happening, Im picking up a wrecked but driveable 90 Eclipse GS-T next thursday. The car has 120k on it so im gonna pull the motor, toss the turbo tranny. Which im told grinds like a mofo. Im gonna replacing the timing components and remove the balance shafts, new water pump and be set for drop in. The wiring isnt my issue however, my issue is will the Turbo clutch and flywheel fit into my bellhousing of my NT tranny? Or am I gonna have to go get an upgraded NT clutch kit?

when it breaks i just have to make best friend with some fellow dsm:er who i can trust to ship me an turbo tranny =)

this is weird.. aperntlu we in europe has a differnt tranny mine is a f5m31 ... annyone know anything about this tranny ?

um.. maybe i'm wrong but isnt the 4G63 and 4G63-T engines mirror images of each other? on every NT i saw the timing belt, transmission, battery everything was on the other side.

you're thinking of the 2gnt, and that was a 420a (the neon motor) and the 4g63t.

i found that to ... desent say mutch ... hopefully its a ittle bit stronger than the 22 tranny , what i have come up eith is that the tranny is used in the 2,4 spyder 2,4 expo ans some 2,0 turbo galant , dont know where it was sold .....

Some differences between the F5M31 and F5M33 are:

F5M31:
1. Used behind 4G63 NT and 4G64
2. Final gear ratios of 4.913 and 4.322
3. Regular roller bearings used on input shaft.


F5M33:
1. Used behind the 4G63T and 6G72 NT. THe 6G72 version simply has a different case on the engine side.
2. Final gear ratios of 4.153
3. Tapered roller bearings on input shaft to deal with the increased torque thrust.

i have been to my local mitsu dealer today an compared schematics of the two trannys
it is bulit like the 22 but uses slighly "beefier" gearings anyway thats what they told me and as far as i could se from the pictures it looks that way , also the 31 tranny alows u to use the fwd turbo clutch and flyweel if you want to

ralp i am from sweden- i am not sure about ANYTHING
any way thats what the mitsu man told me and from the pictures it looked that way
but the buildup is excatly like the 22 tranny but the gears was looked bigger and had a different parts number from the 22 tranny .
also ralp i tried to add you to my icq did it work or dont u use it anymore ?
