I've noticed when coming close to curbs or at slow parking lot speed I have a click that seems to last up to about 25mph coming from the left rear wheel. When I take hrd rights it changes to right rear. It doesn't affect my drivability at all. Nor does it affect performance I have pull both wheels off and and can't seem to find anything loose except my exhaust which has normal bushing slack. Axles look good too. Only thing I could think of is my exhause tapping my rear suspension components but it seems to consistent.

Any ideas? Thanks

you might have a tire with a bubble in it, did you check the wheel play while it was in the air to see if a bearing was bad?

Haven't checked for a bearing issue thought I couldn't rotate a wheel while it was in the air. The brakes seem to stop thistapping. It also comes and goes its not always there.

Also tire s are flawless

no need to rotate the wheel, you want to shake the wheel from side to side and up and down, see if it makes a noise. Sounds like you might have one going out. while it is up you should check the caliper and make sure it is tight since it seems to make the noise stop.

everything is solid I checked it then had my friend who is another mechanic check it too. It happens less now, Kind of with the bumps. But it does get faster with speed and the brakes stop it. Still a mystery.

Um, you have to turn the emergency brake off to check the wheel bearing; otherwise the brake will hold the wheel in place.

We figured out what it was! A Broken brake pad/ spacer, I just need a new set of rear pads is all. One decided it didnt want to keep doing its job fully.

Th noise is back it is NOT the brakes, a cleaning helped but the problem is changing. It still clicks at low speeds but comes and goes at high speeds. when i hit the brakes it stops, and when i go in reverse it doesnt happen. I will attempt to take a video later to put up here. Its still a very consistent clicking noise that gets faster with speed and louder with left turns and silent with right turns... At very low speeds (1-3mph) I hear a loud metal on metal noise with the clicking now, and bearings are new, pads are new and discs look good. Could this be a CV axle?

Make sure your lugnuts are all tight. I know it sounds weird, but I've had loose lugs and a loose wheel and it only made noise under certain load conditions and at certain speeds.

Also, make sure your brake dust shield isn't making contact with anything.

Ill check both, this has happened with two different sets of wheels, I pulled the brake assembly off an cleaned it and it seemed to have improved it. but within hours it came back. Also at low speeds rolling up on red lights if i tap the brakes its like i can hear the metal pads hitting the metal rotor. like a loud CLUNK. Ill bend back the dust shield, hope it just popped loose from the hub...

My car did the same thing and it is the brakes. Its the rear pads catching a ruff spot or a slight warp spot on the rotor and it causes the pad to "slap" back and forth in the caliper. The tabs on the ends of the pad have a small amount of slop where they sit in the caliper.Ive noticed this on the autozone replacement pads more than once.My "fix" at the time was to cut a washer in half and tap it in between the end tab of the pad and the caliper to shim up the slop.I believe the last time i got pads was from napa and their brand had fit properly:thumb:

That makes a lot of sense, I was going to take my pads and grind the tabs down a bit to stop the noise but I didnt want to act before I knew what it could be possibly. The rotors are brand new and I have only tracked the car once then the noise started ill look at warpage. I dont know what kind of pads they are since I bought the car with them. Ill try this in a day or two and see if this is resolved!
