Not your everday emissions problems.

So after an hour or so of searching DSMtalk and here on Tuners I am left with no choice but to drop the new thread.

I just recently installed a EGR blockoff plate to test it and just see about some things. I will be removing all of the emission components soon anyways but I need this thing figured out first. Anyways after the blockoff install I start the car and it won't idle at all, and it takes about 10 seconds to even start up, it just cranks like it's not getting fuel and what not. Then after a while of searching I go out and it starts right up but the idle is near 4k it was still climbing when I shut it off. So I reinstalled my f'ed up EGR valve and it works like it used to. So anything I should check or do if I reinstall it again?

have you cut your vacuum lines on top of the throttle body. cut one and plug it in to the one next to it so its recirculating from where it came from?

No, do you I need to do that with just a EGR blockoff? I haven't read anything of the sort when I was researching this.

im not sure if you have to or not, when i got my first tsi, i took it to a local guy who knew a sht load about dsms, he did my timing, and we cut a coke can out to fit over it, and after that he had me do that with the vacuum lines, as to it needing to be done or not i dont have the answer to that, all i can say is after we were done, my 600 dollar car was running awesome

So did he remove any emissions as all?

if he did than i still dont know enough right now to know, and i spiked my phone a couple weeks ago so i dont have his number anymore to even find out.

im going to probably still be working on the car during that time, and im broke as crap so idk but if you are in terre haute people do streetrace, theres a wide road in the country that has good pavement and its long and the factorys are usually not on shift then...

i understand, that road isnt really a street you could put 4 semi's next to each other on it, and its out of the city limits so the thpd isnt out there. i know what you saying tho.
