All car info on profile is correct.
Just replaced HG and had Timing belt replaced by someone else. So I'm heading out to Panama City Beach for New year's @ 75-80 running 5-10lbs. Then the car dies on me. I fugure since the way it died, there was a loose connection somewhere or something along the lines of ignition... Well, I'm stuck on side of road and start looking under hood. I find that the TB is very loose. Flatbed car to mechanic who installed TB. Next day, find out that the head has a lot of damage. I pretty much expected that since the TB snapped. The head is at a machine shop right now and hopefully is not cracked. Anyways, I have NO idea why the TB snapped...
I now have the head off and come accross this. Tell me what is wrong here.
Seems my NGK's melted in cyl #2 to the point where it got to the piston head and started the catastrophic chain reaction you see here. Also known as the DSM effect.
Here is where my questions come. I know I should research this more. I'm doing so right now and would like any and all input on this.
I'm pretty comfy with extremepsi.com since they ship pretty quickly and I've spent thousands with them. Found some replacement pistons, valves, valve seals and valve guides. All are topline products. Who has used or know anything about this company? This is my DD and want to be @ 300 ish whp until further notice. I'm not shooting for 10 seconds 1/4's, or looking to best my lap times... yet. I'm real pissed that I ####ed up my wiseco's and that this even happened.
