So lets get this outta the way! I am not new to dsm's i have had moderate experience with them in and out, but i cant seem to figure this out for the life of me. i tried to find answers on my local dsm forum and have turned up no results in fixing the problem. SO!
This happened almost 1.5 years ago when i put on an hks ssqv bov with recycle kit on my 2g talon. (talon tsi awd, 14b, stock everything except built bottom end and hks cams in the head and safc2 with no tune) everything seemed "ok" aside from the typical dsm stuff but when i put on the hks bov and took it down the road i got what i thought was "fuel cut" now this has been going on for quite some time and ive heard every explanation under the sun of what "fuel cut" really is. What happened was around 4500rpms at a low accel it would shutter a little and after about 5300rpmish range it goes away...sorta. well under high accel around 4500rpm's it feels like it hits a wall and cuts out but will come right back to life and give me a weak accel past 5000...(i only did this once or twice)
too make a long story short. I drove the car lightly around changing this changing that trying to figure it out. I cant put the original BOV back on because the vac nipple broke (which is why i replaced it in the first place) so these are the things i did to fix it and things i just did, maybe not in this order
plugs and wires
3" full exhaust
hard IC pipping and IC
new coils
rebuilt throttle body
ported and put a bigger WG flapper on the 14b
swapped ecu's
GM maf and translator
ported manifold
put 1g bov on
also bought what i thought was another true hks bov thinking mine was broken and come to find out it was a knock off...go figure
re ran all the vac lines 3 times
did compression and leak down test
boost test
hallman pro boost controller
shoot i even put a wastegate dump trying to create more flow..(hated the sound it made)
i may be forgetting some things but basically touched everything except a tune because i have no wideband no access to one and not enough money for dsmlink or some other method of messing with things....
im currently putting on a 18g ive had laying around thinking the 14b may be the cause since that was the only thing surrounding "air flow" other than the head its self that hadn't been replaced
Any ideas? I'm in the dark at why my car is doing this? Before the broken 2g bov change it ran fine...and I've tried 3 other bov's and still the same results!
