i am installing a jdm motor 6 bolt into a 91 gsx and i have power going into the coil pack but not getting any spark i found an old coil and put it in but i am still not getting any spark any feedback is appreciated i am stuck and i have tried about eveything but i can see that the timing may be off would this matter? just let me know if you guys have any suggestions thanks....

It could be a number of things. Cam angle sensor, power transistor(under the coil pack plug) or Ecu. Or you dont have something pluged in.

well i know everything is plugged up cause i double checked but the ecu smells like it has burned up but if the timing is off could that make it not spark because my friend thinks it is

well i did mess with the coil pack and i may have wired it back wrong would this cause the ecu to burn up?

I would expect bad wiring of the coil to damage the power transistor rather than the ECU but people somehow manage to be very creative when it come to destruction.

If it smells burnt, pull the ECU and take some clear pictures of the damage.

ok i will try to do that tommorow but i did use the test light on the bottom and it did light up... however when i try to crank the car it will not get power to the stater we did run a line to the starter to the battery for temporary purposes but i am still not getting any spark but i guess it would not get anything if the ecu is burnt up... i will get some pictures up tommorow...also what would be a good way to test and see if the CAS is bad or not... thanks man

well it has to be from the coil pack but like you said it should have blown the little box on the coil pack however is this an easy fix for the ecu?
