noob exhaust question

ok, im not really a noob. i've just never done exhaust work.

my stock tsi muffler is KIA. so instead of replacing it with another one, and then upgrading to a straight through, i want to get a magnaflow.

now my question is. . . will this go right up with my stock pipes. . . or will i have to have basically a cat back custom bent for it. with a 3in pipe for the inlet. if there's a way around it i really would like to just replace the muffler with this new one. but if not ill look into something else.

my recommendation is to get the cat-back system, because unless you just want to make noise, just a muffler will do nothing for power with that tiny tiny very restrictive exhaust system

but to answer your question, yes you should be able to just have your mechanic attach the magnaflow muffler to your existing pipes, he will probably have to attach some additional pipe because the stock muffler is a lot longer then that one, and he will have to flare the end to match up with the muffler. as long as your mechanic has a pipe bender, he will be fine
