Noob question

I feel stupid asking this question but i was in a friendly argument with a friend and he has me second guessing myself... Is the 91-92 galant vr4 considered a DSM? What all cars are considered DSM's? I know this is a no brainer but i could'nt find the answer i want..

Kinda.... Really a "DSM" was anything to come out of the Normal, IL plant, since that plant was the "joint venture" between Chrysler and Mitsubishi for "diamond star motors." However, if you want to get technical, anything after the 1995 Model year is not a "dsm" because the joint venture ended in 1994, and "dsm" was dropped for "mmc" or "mitsubishi manufacturing." Were there still shared platforms between the two companies, yes. It was just different due to Chrysler selling off the stakes in the company.

The Galant was built in a few different places over the years, and it did come out of the IL plant for some of them... but not all years. And it looks like during the "dsm" years, it was not assembled there.

So 91 &92 Gvr4s were not assembled in IL. I thought they were seeing how they made 15 gvr4's that were not badged because they were used as promotional cars, dealer cars, ect...

DSM is geared toward the eclipse, talon, laser. GR4 were a breed of there own, but depends on who you talk to so considerthem DSM's some don't it's just a matter of who you talk to, so to each there own.
