I have been running a non resirculated tial bov on my setup with 2g maf, it doesnt stall but sometimes almost does, and it bogs a bit in between shifts when it opens and would normally go into the intake, is it safe for the motor? Or is the motor going rich between shifts becouse of the absence of bov air and will that damage the motor?

If you want to vent properly convert to speed density or install a GM MAF in blow through mode. You are causing a rich condition every time the BOV opens currently.

Gasoline is a extremely powerful degreaser so that unburnt fuel is basically declubricating your motor. I'd expect injector size to play a large role in how damaging it is.

My assumption is that it would have more fuel to dump. This is purely my guess based off what I know about fuel injection.

If you are interested in knowing if its true or not I am sure Google will answer your question.

Unspent fuel entering the crankcase is the real damage as stated above. How long have you ran it like this? SD would be the best route to go as far as modifying your IC piping goes. Just get an AIT bung weld on your TB inlet and slap on a MAP sensor of your choice. Calibrate with your existing 2g maf and no more problem.

Venting the BOV with a MAF steup that is pre-turbo will cause a rich condition.

Dear Santa -

I've been pretty good this year, if we ignore you-know-what (and she was asking for it, anyway, so that really shouldn't count very much against me). Here's what a want: a question on 'Tuners that hasn't been asked and answered a million times before. Thanks, man.

ps. I'm serious when I say that she was asking for it

pps. I'm also really sorry about Comet; I don't know what came over me; I was just sitting there thinking about non-beef jerky and didn't really think before I shot; I should have known it wasn't a deer, given that it was on the roof

haha the comet thing really made me laugh, but like the wiseman said just use the search button. this place has more info on our cars than anywhere else.

Everything stated above is correct. The reasoning is by venting to atmosphere you are throwing out air that has already been accounted for, so the ecu is adding the fuel needed for that air reading it got not for what air actually entered the intake mainfold causing it to run rich. You ethier need to run SD or get a gm maf set up to read after the BOV as stated above.

Since Tron wanted to sound informative, you cannot do speed density unless you have an ECU tuning device that allows speed density. This means you would need ECMLink v3, AEM EMS, and possibly EVO Flash if that allows it.

You cannot just throw on a MAP and IAT sensor and expect it to run at all.
