Noise at cold engine start up.

Quick question, I have a 98 gst, it has been sitting since oct, and I just started using it again. When the engine is cold or has not been run for a while it makes a rattling noise when it is first started. It only lasts for a second or two, and then goes away. When the car has been running for a while and it is tuned off and then on again the noise doesnt happen, just when the engine is cold. Do you guys know what it could be? Thanks

I had the same problem. I had the starter rebuilt and the noise disapeared. So i think its your starter.

It's probably your lifters, lacking of oil. When its cold the oil thickens and does not get up to the lifters as fast.
