General No voltage coming from 1G Cam/Crank sensor harness & Cam/Crank sensor code

Hi, I have a '91 TSI AWD auto, and I have been have problems with my TSI randomly stalling at the same distance from home (about 10 minutes every time) until now when my car will not ever start. I checked the codes and the only code that has shown up was for a faulty Camshaft/Crankshaft sensor.

I removed it the test to see if there is any voltage going to the harness with the ignition on, and sure enough, there is not. I also tapped into the wiring before the harness going to the sensor and there is still no power. I read that if the computer was bad, there would be no codes, there is a code tho. I don't know what the problem could be. I believe the code was a 23 or a 32 but it was for cam/crank sensor. No voltage going to the sensor. Thanks! Ben

Which wire/pin were you checking?
The CAS gets +12v from the MPI relay just like the MAF, ISC, Solenoids, ECU and Injectors.

I checked all 3 of the contacts (not the ground) comming out of the harness w/ the ignition on... no voltage from any. One is supposed to have like 12 volts, and one is supposed to have like 5 I think, but there is none. The harness is good and so is the ground. I am clueless. Thanks

Pin 3 is the +12v from the MPI relay (pins 4 and 5 there), Pin 4 is ground. Pins 1 and 2 feed the Crank and TDC signals to the ECU. The ECU provides +5v pullups to both of those.

Next thing to do is again check the harness back to the MPI relay and ECU. If the wires ohm out then the problem sounds like an ECU problem since it controls the MPI relay and would be providing +5v on pins 1 and 2.
