there's a eclipse for sale and the turbo doesnt spool. what's the problem? will it be a easy fix?

and how do i do all of those? is it still drivable? its located in fresno and im in sacramento. do you think i can drive it for 2 hours?

To start, ask they guy how long its been like that and how/why it happened. After that, just check it all over, possibly ask the guy if you can take the intake pipe off quick to make sure the thing even turns.... Good luck with the buy though.

first of all dont bother going all the way out there for a car that already has a problem with a hundred causes...a 2 hour drive is more than enough distance to finish of the hole thing.
save your self a little more money and get one in town that you can at least take to your mechanic to inspect (compression test, ect) if you are not mechanically incline.

asking the guy to tell yo why when or how it happen is a very thing chance he will be truthful even he is been honest about the spool problem.

+1 IMO this is the problem with 90% of the cars on the road people that dont fully understand how to work on them attempt it and it ends in failure. If the guy is advertising or telling you the "turbo doesnt spool" hes either attempting a scam or a total idiot. Those are definately not the types you want to buy a used car from.

I stand corrected. rush2252 has a very good point in that this guy is probably trying to make it look like it is no big deal, yet he either knows it is a big deal or is too much of a ratard to know that no boost when you have a turbo is not a good thing. I'd skip the deal and get one a little closer.

well first of all its more then 2 hours from Sac to Fresno, LOL im in Modesto and its 2 hours to Fresno from here and 1 hour up to sac.

but the turbo could be going bad, idk if you would really wanna drive that that far in order to fully check out the car.

Not worth it, there could be so many things wrong with it, unless the price difference is a lot cheaper than a new turbo
