no timing marks

I got a 95 tsi with a spun bearing from some guy off craigslist. He removed the timing belt from the crankshaft for some reason. He didn't mark any of the timing components. Will this be a problem? Sorry, kinda new at this.

No way, I drove a talon 35 miles with the exhaust cam a full tooth off. There was no damage done.

Damage starts at 3 teeth.

Thanks.., hope it never happens again. I didn't know the exact number but I knew one tooth wouldn't do it. Someone on here said it would. Nice ride btw!
