No spark!!

I just finished a headgasket. I put everything back together except the timing cover and pulleys just to make sure the timing is correct.Anyway I tried and start it and it wont start.So first thing I do is check for spark and nothin.Everything is plugged back in.When I pulled the head off he ripped the wires out of the plug for the egt temp sensor I doubt this could be the culprit just wanted to throw that out there.Let me know any ideas thanks.

if my ecu did go bad would there e any signs? like smell or could i see something was wrong?

I don't know why you just don't check the cas go buy one from autozone and return it if it is not the problem!

I just called the local autozone and they dont sell them.He said he could get one there 450 bucks and you cant return it.I think he would be better of finding one for 30bucks from a known working car and do that.

Just noticed you may have meant a dvom in that case thats not a bad idea.
