So last night, I was taking my car for a quick spin around the block, because it doesn't have tags on it, the engine doesn't have many miles on it, anyway, I was in first, and decided I'll get into boost, so I hit it, and once I hit boost and went all the way through first, I let off and put it in second and the car sounded completely differently it had barely any power and I could barely get back to the house, once I got there it wouldn't start, I got it towed around the block, and then rolled it into the driveway, now there's no spark, has this happened to any of you before ? If so what was it ? Wires and spark plugs are good

Check your timing. Maybe when you hit it in 1st you might have jumped a tooth and made it that way. Check your ignition pack also.

How did you check for spark? Pull a plug and ground on the chassis? Check both Cylinders 1 and 2, since 1/4 and 2/3 are on the same coil. If you have NOOO spark, then check your actual connections to the coil pack. It is very probable that you torqued enough to pull a plug (done it before). Otherwise, timing would be the only other thing to check.

Alright thanks, since I'm off work tomorrow I'll check it tomorrow, thanks for the help, I'll let you guys know the results

Alright, so this is my timing belt, could that be off enough to cause it to get no spark and not start ?

The crank and oil pump are lined up with the marks in that picture

Well of course fix that (ew adjustable cam gears), anyway, I'm not 100% sure how the ignition and position sensors communicate, so let's wait for an expert to show up LOL

Could these poor connections on the cam sensor be the culprit of no spark ?

Won't let me upload pic but it looks like the wires that are connected to the cam sensor have only like 4 strands of the wire touching

Ok, I've checked the plugs the wires and the coil pack, I've changed the cas sensor to another used one, I'm not sure if it works, but it came off of another 6 bolt 4g63 that I recently purchased, which I am selling if anyone is interested, still no spark !!! Could it be the power transistor ? Or still the cas ?

If you say that the oil and crank is dead nuts lined up and the cam gears look like that... I think you have bigger problems then just no spark. I would get the timing back lined up before you crank the motor anymore while checking for spark.

My wastegate isn't dumping anywhere near my alternator, and I realized that te marks on the crank and oil pump weren't exactly lined up, it just looked like it from the angle I was looking at , wen I turned it a little more to line it up it was fine, as far as a crank sensor ? I didn't think 1st gens had a crank sensor ? If you meant te can angle sensee, I changed it off of anther motor I had in my garage and it didnt do anything, could have been that both were bad though

Well, te alternator failed, so I guess I gotta get one of those, maybe that'll fix it ?

If you know your alternator is failing, try to change it anyways since you need one. I had the same issue before last week, changed wires, plugs, coilpack, mostly everything and it turned out to be the alternator. My alternator was fried to a point the bolts that supports the housing were all loose. Since you already know you need one change it. If its not the problem at least it will summarize your issues.
Best of luck and hope this helps.

Oh by the way i did not have boost at all, felt like it was a non turbo car LOL. Look at your lights and see how bad they blink. Also really dead alternator, wouldn't keep a steady idle, but all goes how bad it is.

1g do not come with crank sensor. It only comes with CAS. 2g have crank sensor (unless its 6 bolt swap).

Let us know how things go

Wasnt the alternator, no clue what it is, really thinking about giving up and selling it and moving on, it's a shame since this thing was gonna make some power, so unless anyone else has something in mind, it's going up for sale/ trade, fully built
