im new to the dsm world, just picked up my first eclipse.

i bought a 95 gs 2g that wasnt running. being a mechanic myself i thought i would have it figured out by the end of the day, guess not.

so, it cranks great, fuel pump comes on, no power to coil pack, all fuses and links ohm ok

cel blinks out 12, 36, 55.

replaced cam and crank sensors with used ones. cam connector had bad hack job, dont know if it fried something else

i dont hear a click in the relay next to the fuel pump relay (asd, i believe), havent check for power or grounds because i dont have a wiring diagram yet and wasnt sure what it was.

any input helps

my guess would be coil and cam/crank sensors, and ecu wiring.

how did you check the fuel pump? battery (+) to fuel pump check connector by the firewall?

i know you checked the fuses, but have you re-checked the MPI fuse in the engine bay?

a download of the manual would be a good one to have...

hth

for the love of god make sure the crank sensor is on correct if you look at it from the outside you should see quality control paint pen dots make sure the lump on the sensor is in facing the engine. i went 5 days trying to figure out why i wasn't getting spark and it was because my crank sensor was on backwards " it does go on both way" but only one way will you get spark.. just double check that before anything..

look for dots on the outside like this

i can hear the fuel pump come on and reach back under the seat and feel it come on.

theres no power to the coil from the asd relay and no ignition pulse at the coil.

the red/white wire at the asd relay that grounds through the ecm is showing +12v

the cam sensor is only showing +5v with the key on

every wire that ive checked from ecm to sensor or relay has ohm'd good

im leaning towards bad ecm

also the guy i bought it from told me it was a 95 gs 2g but i cant find anything that says that on the car. the door tag has a date of aug 94.

does anyone agree that its the ecm?

is there more i can do to determine that the ecm has failed?

any recommendations on where to get a new one (besides paying dealer price)?

i bought a new ecm on ebay, the car started right up. so i guess this is resolved
