My 98 Eclipse once again is acting possesed. About a week ago I went to start it and all that happened was I turned the key and everything lighted up(guages, ect) and then when i turned to the start position all i heard was a clank and all the power to the guages, lights, ect shut off as if the battery cable was ripped off suddenly. A few hours later I opened the door and no lights came on so I slammed the door and lights started to flicker dimmly and then shut off so I did this a few more times and the power came back on b/c now when I opened the door the door open light came on and i tried to start it and it did the same thing as before. so I wiggled some fuzes, which by the way none are blown, and slammed the door a few times and then was able to start it just fine. Well this morning around 4:30 while im driving to work the car decided it was going to completly shut off power to everything once again, but while im driving causing me to use my emergency break to stop awkwardly since i had no brake lights or hazards as well while trying to pull to the side of the road. Absolutly no power goes to anything in the car whatsoever and nothing i tried would reset the vehicle. Im wondering if it is the ignition switch. which now that i think it cant be because lights would still light up in the car when you open the door if it was that and nuthing does at all. Its sitting at a shop now since i had to get it towed off the bridge it was on. Any suggestions???

Im not a expert by any means. but i would check your grounds and battery terminals. as well as your alternator just for giggles.
