No Power, but over boosting?

So i just got my car running, took it for a drive in the parking lot next to my house. Now. It idels fine but when i started driving it just didnt want to drive. Could hardly get into 2nd gear. Feel slugish and very unresponsive. Compression is good kinda low 139 across. Maybe boost controller is bad?? Any help is ok. Thanks Robert

well if your tranny isnt slipping and its just hard to put into gears adjust the clutch adjustment bolt. theres a video somewhere where you have to play with the slave cylinder to get it right, but i just did one full turn and tried it out. i thought my second gear grinds but after i adjusted that my tranny shifts like butter.

If it can rev and idle fine then it could be the clutch. Does it struggle to get out of it's own way because the motor is not keeping power or is it more that the motor is doing all it can and it's not going anywhere fast?

No i ment the engine struggles, and bogs like i cant get into 2nd gear cause its not possible to go that fast, . Clutch is good. Timings perfect, compressions good, got spark and gas. So what could cause this?

check all your hoses, ic piping. next thing is check your wastegate nipple and see if a hose is connect to it

clutch slipping you will know right away. rpm will rise up car wont move =)

Check the VFAQ for the IC pipe tester. It can help a lot. And so you don't drive yourself nuts trying to find a faint noise o an air leak soapy water will help. It's a tried and true system used in HVAC :thumbs:

You may have a boost leak try cheaking for leaks.

one last thing i almost forgot. the maf sensor plug. one thing some people(im one of them) forget about is to plug that connector in. the car will bog out or even choke and hard to rev pass 3k rpm. if you haven't reroute the bov back to the intake your car will run under its performance too. im pretty sure its a loose pipe or unplug maf sensor connector. over boosting will have to do with the internal wastegate nipple not getting the right hose from the boost control, etc. hope this help

Update guys,

Checked the maf plug, its in.
Soap and water for boost leak. Found 1. Fixed.
Waste gate Rubber hoes is good.

Maybe some sort of sensor?

Its driving me nuts... I just wanna drive it :/

1 : Check your timing. Take us a picture.
2 : Check the 02 sensor.
3 : Ensure you are getting proper fuel supply.

BAD ECU. Swap with a good one and lemme know. 90 Percent sure your ecu is burnt up

Cant be ecu because i just bought a new one. Sounds coming from the left side of the motor, like.. Idk sounds like somethings broke? Spinning? Idk

That sound you hear I believe is just the ICS cycling(thats normal), it's on the throttle body. As for the ECU, I have personally seen new rebuilt ECU's go bad within a few days. It causes a lot of headache when it's the last thing you check. Make sure your spark plugs are good and gapped properly with good wires. Also think about the coolant temp sensor, although that usually causes a no-start or rough start situation, the one on the thermostat is the one the ECU reads, check it.

Bogging, issues starting, impacting noises - all of this points to timing for me. So just to confirm, you've pulled the timing cover and set the #1 piston to TDC, the crank is on the timing notch at the block, and the cams are lined up perfectly?

If so - Check for Crank end Play.

Heres what i dont understand ive had a bad ecu, the car wouldnt even stay on it would shut off in 2 seconds after start. Now i put the new one in, the car starts perfect and idels at 1000rpm and doesnt shut off and its bad?

That's a GM MAF on the intake pipe? What is you FULL mods list? Do you have a small box with a plastic cover on it somewhere in the car? Inside it has... 4-6 dials on it?

It looks like you're running EXTREMELY rich by the way your boost gauge is responding...And for the love of God, replace that rear bumper and single out that exhaust. =/

I also want to ask if you set the base timing correctly by grounding the timing PIN for the ECU so you could properly adjust your CAS. Something tells me that's likely not set correctly.

The boost gauge, boost controller and blow off valve are all hooked into the same line. That's a problem. The red cap is where the blow off valve recirculates into the intake. Well it is supposed to. The maf is not a 1g or 2g. Looks to be a gm maf which suggests a gm maf translator.

Also, in the video you hooked up the positive terminal to start the car. What was the reason for having it unhooked? (Just to cover the bases)
