No muffler?

Although this may sound really stupid, I'm going to ask it because I have no found anyone else who has done it.... OR anyone else who was stupid enough to do it and write about it.



So I have a 1996 GS-T with a stock exhaust setup. Im thinking about unbolting the rear section of the exhaust and taking the muffler completely off (I might make a trip a local muffler shop later in the week).


I was just curious if anyone else has unbolted muffler from the "Axel" back and left the stock piping open?

You would be better off unbolting it before the cat and running an open downpipe. Unbolting it by the axle would let the exhaust blow all over the gas tank, I wouldn't recommend that. Not to mention, the stock cat is very restrictive as well. You will notice a huge power gain if you run the open d/p over the whole system.
