no muffler,how loud?

i have been searching for almost 2 hours,but cant find the answer i am looking for.
since i cant seem to find a good deal on a cat-back for my 1g FWD,i am gonna have a custom 3" made. now my question is how loud will it be if i just have a resonator(or two) with no muffler,and factory looking tips. i have a 2.5" DP and cat. or if you guys 3" will be loud,how about 2.5",i am not looking for huge HP numbers,but def looking to run a few cars i may run into. i dont want that drowning sound inside the car. thanks for the help

Its loud! I did the same thing as u stated, ran nothing but straight pipe from the o2 to a magnaflow 3" "muffler" or a resonator but it was loud. I think it was called the magnaflow bullet 3" muffler.

I like the loud sound but it gets annoying when your trying to be quiet for the neighbors.
